"The show’s title takes off from the more festive Mexican version of our own Todos Los Santos (which is mistranslated in the vernacular as Araw ng mga Patay or as Undas).  

A hundred of cast resin skulls lined up on a shelf customized by various artists as diverse as their age, cosmological outlook and style flesh out this philosophical point aside from the numerous drawings, paintings, prints and other sculptural works to complement the aforementioned custom skulls.

Hannah: Paete Kay Galing at the Museo Walo

Acknowledged for sustaining and featuring both pioneering and incoming Filipino artists and designers, Museo Walo opened its doors again to the press and the public last October 7, 2011 with the launch of “Paete Kay Galing”.

The art exhibit showcases pieces by Paete artists whose works include paintings, wood carvings made from Batikuling, Narra, Santol, etc. and mixed-medium pieces.

Exhibit will run from October 7, 2011 - November 4, 2011 at Museo Walo. Check out the art pieces from the 18 members of Paete Artists' Guild and be of assistance in raising funds for the Chosen Children Village in Silang, Cavite.

CHS Interior Design Exhibit: Aidvocates

Last February 10, The graduation Interior Design batch of College of the Holy Spirit formally opened their 18-day Interior Design exhibit at the CHS School grounds. 

This year's theme was all about advocacy and designing with a heart. Each booth represented a certain cause-child literacy, proper shelter, peaceful study environment, and more. The exhibit was graced by President Noynoy Aquino's sister, Mrs. Viel Aquino-Dy. 

SPACE was the official media partner of the event where magazines were handed out to the guests that same night.

The hand painted Cherry Blossom tree in this room became the focal point of the area while the wall mounted bookshelf added a three dimensional effect to it.

The hand painted cartoon illustration added a story to this Dining area and gave it a very young and playful vibe.

CIRCULO VERDE GARDEN HOMES

Last Thursday, February 10, 2010, Our EIC Sheryl Songsong attended the Circulo Verde Garden Homes event.

Ortigas & Company (Ortigas & Co.) introduced another premiere residential project within their flagship development, The Circulo Verde Garden Homes--A townhouse community of 62 units with pedestrian friendly central green pathways, community pool, playgrounds, and access to Circulo Verde’s town center that would hold a blend of retail shops and restaurants for ease, comfort, and exclusivity.

As part of the effort to go green and preserve the environment, the development retained its natural features to each property.  

Located in a 12-hectare property along Calle Industria in Bagumbayan, QC, Circulo Verde will have 15 residential buildings of staggered heights that will give residents unparalleled views of the nearby Sierra Madre mountains and the Metro Manila skyline.

The exterior of the townhouse exude a very simple, chic, and neutral environmental friendly vibe.

The "study" also known as the "boy's room" is a personal favorite of our EIC, Sheryl. The use of texture, materials, and colors matched really well and came up with a very cozy and elegant room.

The floor to ceiling shelving system has maximized the space for storage and display in the Living Room. 

Who would not want to Relax and Unwind at this hotel-like bedroom after a hard day's work?

Walnut, Beige, Cream, and different hues of Green are the main colors used.

We Was There 4/F Upper Wing Gallery January 13 - March 5, 2011 We Was There is a continuation of Reflections, a residency and exhibit between young Korean and Filipino artists last May 2010. The intiative brought together four artists from South Korea and four from the Philippines, who—after spending time exploring both countries—reinterpreted their views based on the similarities and differences of their cultures through contemporary art.  We Was There showcases individual and collaborative works by Filipino artists Michael Arvin Adrao, Carlo Gabuco, Leslie de Chavez, and Christopher Zamora, and by Korean artists Che Jinsuk, Kwon Jayeon, Lee Soyoung, and Koh Byungsung. On display are paintings, installations, and photographs previously exhibited in Relfections, as well as created thereafter.  Under a Different Light 3/F Bridgeway Gallery February 19 - April 20, 2011 2 - 3:30 p.m. Under a Different Light showcases more than 20 ultraviolet (UV) paintings of women by Edd Aragon, a Filipino cartoonist and artist now based in Sydney, Australia.  For the past three decades, Aragon has been creating editorial cartoons, comics, and caricatures for Australian and Filipino-Australian newspapers such as The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Philippine Bulletin Today, and Philippine Daily Express. Since 2004, Aragon has been experimenting with UV light-reactive paint  on canvas— paintings that can be seen only under UV light.

Artist's Talk: Edd Aragon February 21, Monday 2 - 4 p.m. Free with museum admission Sydney-based cartoonist and artist Edd Aragon talks about his art and his recent experimentations with UV light-reactive pigments, as shown in the exhibit Under a Different Light. Ode to Beauty: Paintings by Chi K'ang 3/F Bridgeway Gallery Ode to Beauty presents the works of Chi K'ang, a prolific Chinese brush painter who was recognized for his exquisite expressions of nature and the female form. Chi K'ang was born to a family of renowned painters and calligraphers. He was known for his freehand paintings of beautiful court maidens, as well as of horses and orchids. Chi K'ang painted without human models, yet crafted hundreds of different poses and styles featuring modes of dress throughout the Chinese dynasties.
